Metallica have released the recording of “Fade to Black” from their Le Bataclan live album “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite, Metallica!”.
The 9 track live album features songs from their June 11th 2003 show from their show at Le Bataclan theatre in Paris. This show was one of three shows the band played in Paris that day in support of their St. Anger album which was released a week before the shows. The song features a career spanning set of songs from their first 4 albums along with Frantic from St. Anger. The full track list is as follows:
- The Four Horsemen
- Leper Messiah
- No Remorse
- Fade To Black
- Ride The Lightning
- Seek & Destroy
- Damage, Inc
While 4 of the songs have already technically been released as part of the “Some Kind of Monster” EP, this will be the first time the whole show has been made available.
Metallica are this years Record Store Day Ambassadors and the album will be released worldwide on Record Store Day (April 15th). All proceeds from the sales will go towards the families of those affected by the terrorist attack that took place at the venue last year during an Eagles of Death Metal concert, which claimed the lives of 89 people. Last year’s Record Store Day saw the band release an official cassette tape release of their demo tape “No Life Til’ Leather” which was the best selling item last year.
They are also gearing up to launch their re-release albums of “Kill ’em All” and “Ride the Lightning” on Record Store Day also. The re-releases will feature the albums remastered, while featuring rare unreleased material in the form of live concerts, demos and interviews.
